Where does the name STOULS come from?

Stouls is the surname of brand founder Aurélia Stouls.

How are your products different from other stretch leather clothes on the market?

We only use premium hides, tanned in France using artisanal methods that comply with our high standards: high-quality hides, high-precision colours and machine-washable properties. In addition, all our products are manufactured in our top-end European workshops by staff trained to meet the high standards of leading French fashion companies. The flawless fit of our cuts, our refined, sophisticated finishes such as our silk lining and full-grain leather, reflect the high standards we apply on a continuous basis in order to achieve excellence in what we do.

Is the clothing sold online available in your store?

The designs available on our website are timeless classics that we produce season after season. They are available in store, but in different colours than the ones featured on our website. The shades available online are created based on our archives and are especially designed for the website. Having said that, you can try an item on in store and place an order with our team for that same item, in one of the colours available online.

Is this season’s collection available online?

Not at the moment. To see the full collection and this season’s colours, you’ll need to come and see us at the store or head to one of our partner stores. To find a STOULS stockist near you, contact us.

The colour I want is out of stock. Will it be back?

Probably not. When a colour is listed as being out of stock, it means we’ve run out of leather in your chosen colour. But don’t worry: we boast a huge range of rich, vibrant shades, and have plenty more to choose from.

How do I determine my size?

If you aren’t already the lucky owner of a STOULS piece, the best way of finding out your size is to come and try our clothing on in our Paris store, or at one of our stockists if you aren’t based in Paris. Otherwise, you can check our size guide and our product pages, which always specify our model’s size and the size she’s pictured wearing.

What are the measurements for a Stouls small size?

It all depends on the specific design of the piece and how tall you are, but generally speaking, a size S corresponds to a French size 36/38. All our clothing is stretch, which means that if you’re looking for a skin-tight fit, we recommend sizing down. Don’t go too small though, as this may cause your clothing to stretch out of shape. If in doubt, drop into our store and try your size on.

I don’t feel skinny enough for leather.

We hear this all the time. We clothe women of all shapes and sizes, from XXS to XL. Our cuts are designed to emphasise the proportions of the body and flatter curves. There’s a piece to flatter your shape - you just need to find the right one for you. The best way of doing so is to come in and see us. And visit our muse portraits.

Will the leather warp or stretch out of shape?

Our leather is lined with a premium Lycra© and cotton blend designed to prevent our items from stretching out of shape. You do run this risk if you choose an item that’s too small, however. When you wash your item, it will spring back to its original shape, just like a pair of jeans. Please do note, however, that suede will stretch slightly, unlike the lambskin leather.

Will my item’s colour fade in the wash?

Over time, your item may indeed fade or lighten slightly. This feature lies at the heart of the STOULS approach, and means that each item becomes a unique piece, acquiring its own individual patina over time. Note that very dark or light shades don’t change much, but bright colours do tend to lighten.

I’m too scared to wash my STOULS leather!

It’s a completely understandable fear. But if you make sure to carefully follow our care guide, there’s nothing to worry about. If you’re still too nervous, or if you want to ensure your leather remains as vibrant and glossy as when you first unpacked it, you can find a leather specialist to handle your STOULS.

Shipping is free, wherever you are in the world.

What are the customs fees and taxes for deliveries to my country?

The displayed prices are inclusive of all sales taxes and customs fees for deliveries within the European Union. If you need delivery outside the EU, sales taxes and customs fees are to be paid by you: the total displayed on the order summary page is not inclusive of these extra charges. As the recipient, you will need to pay all local import, customs and sales fees applicable in the country to which the items are being sent.

How can I claim duty free?

Tax-free doesn’t apply to online purchases: you pay the taxes in force in your delivery country.

Can my order be sent to a PO box?

Unfortunately, our freighters are not able to deliver orders to post office boxes.

Which delivery company will deliver my order?

Deliveries are handled by Chronopost. We insure all orders to at least the value of each order’s merchandise.

When will I receive my order?

Accessories (footwear and bags) are sent three to five days after order confirmation.

Items of clothing, however, are made to order especially for you and are delivered within three weeks. If you need your item sooner, we invite you to visit our Paris store or contact us.

How do I track my order?

Once you’ve placed an order, you’ll receive an email containing an order tracking link. Click the link to track your order progress at any time.

What currencies do you accept?

Orders are payable in Euros, but you can choose to display prices in euros, American dollars or British pound sterling. To select a currency, open the menu. At the top right-hand corner of the page, select the currency symbol of your choice. Note that conversions to American dollars and British Pound Sterling are given on an indicative basis only.

How do I pay?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro and JCB credit and debit cards. Payment is debited upon order confirmation.

Can I pay in installments?

Can I change an order once it’s been placed?

You can cancel an order, change size or colour and edit your billing or delivery address up to 24 hours following order confirmation.

I don’t like my item or it doesn’t fit. Can I return it?

Absolutely. You have 14 working days to decide whether or not you want to keep your items. If you want to return them, you’ll need to inform us in writing by email We’ll send you a return slip and instructions on how to arrange pick-up for your items. Beyond seven days, you won’t be able to return your items.

You can arrange to have your items collected from your home or workplace free of charge. However, if you live outside the European Union, taxes and customs fees will apply.

Items must be returned to us in brand-new condition and must not have been worn or washed. They must be returned in their full original packaging complete with STOULS labels and tags still attached and intact. Returns that do not comply with our returns policy will not be accepted and will be sent back to you.

How do you refund customers?

Refunds are made within seven days. You’ll be refunded either directly to your credit card, or by bank transfer. If you’d like to exchange an item, you’ll be refunded the original price. You’ll then be able to place a new order for your chosen item. If your order was sent to an address within the European Union, all sales taxes will be refunded. Outside the European Union, sales taxes and customs clearance fees are not refunded. You can seek reimbursement for these fees by contacting the customs office directly. Please note that your bank can take up to 10 working days to refund your bank card.

Do you ever have sales?
